Cross Country Holiday Training Programme (13th – 28th April)
This is a suggested training programme to follow over the school holidays for those children who are hoping to make the school team or would like to improve on their performance from last year. Training really does make a difference! You may be fit, but it is important to practise running for a sustained period to build up endurance. When it comes to the Zone and especially the Canterbury cross country you need to be fit enough to do a near sprint start and then be able to settle to a steadier pace. With the holidays being later this year, it does not give us as much time to train before the zones, so it is important that you start now!
Tuesday 7th May– St Albans School cross country
Wednesday 14th May – Zone cross country – Murchison Park
Make sure you do a proper warm up and cool down.
